About the book: The Sword Study Series is a Bible Study Series that is designed for all different age levels.  “As parents, God has given us the responsibility and privilege of discipling our children to walk with Him through Jesus Christ. Our goal is to come alongside you in that exciting endeavour by providing resources, ideas and encouragement as you shepherd your children, under our perfect Great Shepherd. This is where the Sword Studies and Family Bonfire fit in.” (GlassRoadsPr, Sword Study, 2013). The Sword Study is a 10 week, daily series that allows for an in-depth lesson and personal study time of the Bible. The lessons incorporate reading scriptures, prayer time, writing it out, investigative study, application and family bonfire time to discuss the weekly lesson.

Each lesson book is organized into levels according to age, materials are synchronized to cover the same topics but graphics and learning tools are age appropriate. The levels are as follows:

Level 1: Ages 4-7,  includes activity book with coloring, drawing, matching and other fun learning tools.

Level 2: Ages 7-10, contains light reading, fill in the blank, and application sections.

Level 3: Ages 11-14,  involves more investigation and questions for the student to answer.

Level 4: Teens and adults, steps up the reading and the depth of study including the definition of several Greek or Hebrew terms.

Level 5: Parent or Student Leader with guidance  and background to lead a group of all ages.

My Thoughts: I was really excited about receiving this series. I was looking for additional materials to incorporate into our daily learning routine. When I introduced the books to my children they were really excited, because it was something that they could relate to on their level of understanding. We are still working on the series, learning and having fun along the way. This is an investment into your child’s spiritual future. This is so important in this day and age to establish a foundation while they are young. I loved the illustrations throughout every book in the series, they were really nice and helped engage the reader in the lesson. The Sword Study Series is an excellent resource to add to your library or your youth Bible study group. Everyone can learn something from these lessons and emerge a more insightful student of the scriptures. We hope you enjoy reading and learning through this series as we are. Enjoy.
