Ahh, the season of love! Here are a few ideas to inspire the inner romantic and to help you jumpstart your Valentine’s Day planning! With careful planning and thoughtful consideration, you might even surprise yourself! We all know this is the day that has been dedicated to celebrating those we love and cherish, but love is an action word.
Love requires time, dedication, commitment, unconditional love (even when we don’t want to, but we do it anyway), being transparent-exposing ourselves because we know we can trust this person with our innermost thoughts and feelings. We celebrate this day, showing those who hold our hearts near and dear that we love and appreciate them.
John 13:34 (KJV) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
I Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

This post makes me want to find babysitters for a whole week so my husband and I can do so much together. Thanks for the ideas. Great post. Looks like we won’t be just doing dinner and a movie this Valentines day.

I love that these ideas are both fun AND frugal! It’s so important to keep romance in your marriage. It really is the little things that count!
Yes, I have learned that you can still have a great time on a limited or frugal budget. The little things mean so much and speak volumes! Thanks for commenting.
These are some very cute ideas! Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and we still have decided what we’re doing. It may just be dinner and a movie this year. Nice and relaxing Netflix time. Isn’t it fun meeting some many people through #SITS?
Nice suggestions. I divorced and back out in the dating arena again, so I am doing some of these things. It’s funny how the beginning of the relationship is so full of romance and fun things. But when I had been married for almost 20 years those things had to be requested and scheduled…

A spa day would be amazing right now. Great list.

Really fun ideas! I especially like “Flirt all day, everyday, all the time”
My fiance and I enjoy the popcorn and movie night, which we try to do once a week. We’re lucky enough to live by the beach, so romantic walks are always enjoyable watching the sunset.

Oh, I LOVE this one: “Flirt all day, everyday, all the time” <3
Hi Sylvia,
Yes, flirt and then flirt some more, it keeps the fire going! Fun, fun, fun!
Great ideas for couples! I love the scavenger hunt one the most.

These are great ideas! I really need to think of doing something–we are going out on President’s Day, so it might have to wait until then. I’m coming by from #SITSBlogging!
Back when I worked in an office I’d get surprise visits at the end of the day sometimes and my boyfriend would take me out to dinner, just because. It always made me feel so special that he thought to do that. I think it’s just important to keep surprising each other 🙂
I’m looking forward to a quiet night in and some nice chocolates. 🙂 #SITSBlogging
Gotta love chocolates, but not just any kind! I am a big Sees’s Candy fan and I love chocolate on any occasion!
Love this post! I just did a post on my blog about Valentine’s Day. I have so many friends who aren’t “into” Valentine’s Day. I”m always happy to see someone else that enjoys it like I do! 🙂
Found you via SITS! 🙂
Hi Tami,
Glad you loved the post! I will have to read yours. Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!
I think these are great suggestions for parents in general. It’s important for us to have ‘dates’ too!
I love the scavenger hunt idea. Considering we are going to have a snow storm here in NC and likely stuck in the house till Valentine’s Day, I think we’ll have to be creative and frugal in our plans.

Great ideas! Maybe we will try something different this year. We normally end up going out the on the 13th just to avoid the crowds. #SITS

Hi Tara,
Wow, I hope you enjoy your secret date! Sounds like fun. Thanks for stopping by!
These are great tips! One favorite Valentine’s Day memory of mine was when my husband and I stayed at home and he cooked me dinner. I also love romantic getaways!

Hi Tonya,
I know you enjoyed that moment. It is nice to have someone who can cook and knows their way around the kitchen! Thanks for visiting.
