I’ve Been Nominated-Liebster Award #1

This is my first ever blog award and I was overjoyed when I received it. I have been blogging for some time now and this just validates my reasons for blogging.  Christine over at If I had anything to say  was gracious enough to nominate me to receive this award and I am honored! It took me some time to create this post so I appreciate your patience. Thank you very much.

 

Here’s how the award works: bloggers award other bloggers who they deem as “up and coming” and have less than 200 followers. It’s a nice way to help other bloggers increase their visibility. If you receive a Liebster, you must tell 11 things about yourself, answer 11 questions posed by the nominating blogger, and nominate 11 new bloggers. Then you ask those bloggers 11 questions that they will answer. {Don’t forget to tell the new bloggers you have nominated them!}

11 Random things about me: 

1. I love God and my family.

2. I love chocolate, not just any chocolate but good quality real chocolate. Why waist extra calories on the bad stuff, right!

3. I played the violin when I was younger.

3. I love to sing, I am a soprano, been singing in the choir since I was young.

4. I am a year-round sandal wearer (except this past winter, just too cold for my toes).

5. I am a natural beauty-I usually wear lipbalm (natural and organic brands). Occasionally, I’ll add lipliner if needed.

6. I love to cook {just not all the time, even the great chefs take a break}, I like to add my special touch to the food. You can make the same food they serve at the restaurants but healthier and better.

7. I am the second oldest and the baby girl.

8. I love the warm weather, the ocean, beach and sand. (Just not in my toes)

9. I am a tea drinker, really love green tea combined with other fruits (lemon, orange, pomegranate).

10. I love to talk, socialize and network. It is fun meeting new people with common interests.

11. I am a Frugalista, I love to find deals on food, clothing and other items at discounted prices without compromising on quality. I have to creatively find a way to manage the household on one budget.

 Here are the 11 questions from Lori with the answers:

1. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging in 2008. I started on Blogger and several years later switched to WordPress. I started blogging for my natural bath and body business I started several years ago and to meet and network with other moms.

2. What is your favorite thing about blogging? My favorite thing about blogging is networking and meeting fellow bloggers. I love to read their stories and posts. I have met so many new faces over the years and I have learned so much from each one of them.

3. Did you have a childhood nickname that has stuck? What is it? Yes, Twilight.

4. What hobby would you do more if you had more time to do it? Reading, for pleasure. I am an avid reader and I don’t always have extra time to read or quiet time to enjoy it.

5. What is your favorite movie? Gladiator and The Blind Side, there are so many but here are two I can think of off the top.

6. Can you speak more than one language? No

7. If calories were not a consideration, what’s the thing you would eat most? Chocolate and Ice Cream.

8. What is your favorite season and why? I love summer. I love the sun and the warm weather, summer attire, lighter and longer days and nights and summer is packed with fun filled activities.

9. If you could do anything you wanted with your most favorite person for an entire week, what would you do/where would you go? Go on vacation with my husband. I would love to go to Brazil, Fiji and Hawaii.

10. Which would you rather do–fold the laundry, or iron the laundry? I would say fold, I love folding the clothes when they are right out of the dryer. If folded promptly while warm the clothes are less wrinkled.

11. If there were one person who lived before you who you could see & talk with for an hour, who would it be and why? I would say my Great Grandparents, I would love to find out more about our family and  history from their viewpoint.
