You are all dressed and ready to go to your all time favorite restaurant. You are eagerly anticipating the first bite of your favorite dish or that savory bite of that decadent dessert. You finally arrive at the restaurant, sit at your favorite table order your favorite beverage and now you are waiting for your favorite dish, the main course (you have been thinking about this moment for weeks and all day today). Finally the moment arrives, the server brings your appetizers, which is prolonging your meal, the server is a little rude and forgetful. But that is okay, because it will be all better once my favorite dish arrives. {there is a point to this ‘favorite’ thing}.
Anyway, once you overlook any issues because you are ready to eat, it is time to refocus and enjoy this moment. Meanwhile you are conversing and taking photos, enjoying the scenery and the chatter of the guests at the tables surrounding you. The main course finally arrives (your favorite dish) and it is cold, not what you expected, the flavor is not what it used to be and now you are totally disappointed. I’m thinking to myself I could have prepared this same dish without all the extra drama and it would have tasted much better at home!
What is your “Has this ever happened to you” stories?
IHATE when this happens!! I rarely get to go out to eat, so my expectations are extremely high. I can deal with crummy service, but don’t mess with my food 🙂
Hi Martha,
I have high expectations as well. It is so disappointing especially when you were looking forward to that special dish. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
