Here are a few interview questions presented by the author:
Are we in the middle of a Women Entrepreneur Revolution?
We sure are. Women are starting businesses in records numbers. Technology has created simple solutions and lower barriers of entry. Women are realizing that entrepreneurship gives them the flexibility and freedom that they crave out of life. Climbing the proverbial corporate ladder is not the only option anymore and women are hopping off to pursue different types of businesses that provide more personal meaning. We are living in a great time in history.
Fear cripples even the bravest soul. What are some common fears among women entrepreneurs? Tips for overcoming these fears?
Fears can stumble up the most confident of women. I think it’s important to first recognize the fear itself – give it a name rather than pushing it off into the shadows. Once recognized, you can figure out how to manage it because fears will never go away but you need to learn to work with them. Often fears arise when we push ourselves outside our comfort zone which is definitely the case when you launch your own business. There are so many unknowns that our fears can get the best of us and stop us in our tracks. The biggest antidote to fear is action. If you begin to step, even slowly, towards what frightens you and you realize you can do it, then you can keep making steps and one day all those tiny steps will have led to one big leap towards your dreams.
Is this a good time to start a business?
It’s always a good time to start a business. Even back during the recession it was a great time to start a business. Historically some of the largest and most successful corporations were started during the Great Depression and recessions. Don’t let the fears of others and the media scare you into not starting. It is always a good time.
In the book Women Entrepreneur Revolution: Ready! Set! Launch! Jenn challenges those (women) who are starting out in business to intend to be a future role model. When this mindset is implemented, it will effect the way in which you choose to operate your business and any future business decisions. The question is asked of the reader, “What roles are role models playing in your life? (i.e. actors, athletes, parents, professionals, professors, etc.). I the book Jenn interviewed hundreds of women and researched how these role models and upbringing affect the choices, personality, business savvy and inflections these women entrepreneurs display in their business practices and daily life.
Each chapter includes a section for reflection: Challenges, Spotlights and Inspiration Library.
I believe this is a great resource for anyone who is thinking about stepping out into the business world. Jenn provides great insight and a relative perspective with a real world sense of humor to equip you with the necessary tools to be a successful entrepreneur! I will definitely rethink what and who I define as a role model and how these individuals have impacted the decisions I make on a daily basis. Jenn Aubert was definitely on the mark when she discussed how role models today are quite different than the were 30 or more years ago.
The youth of today and many adults , even the media portray their perspective of who they think is a role model for example: a celebrity, politician or people in highly influential positions. Jenn reminds us to be careful of who we select as a role model and how we allow what they do and how they act to effect our lives. I enjoyed reading this book and I am sure you will find it very informative, easy to follow and a resource for anyone, specifically women interested in becoming an entrepreneur in the future.
Who is a role model in your life and how have they motivated, influenced or shaped the person you have become today?

Thank you so much for the lovely review and taking the time to share it with your readers. Agree, regardless if you’re going into business for yourself, it’s wise to look around and see what and who is influencing you (role models, mentors, friends, media, etc). We are inundated with information and “noise” daily yet we can be selective on what we chose to listen and pay attention to. As a mom of a toddler, I’ve become even more acutely aware of the influence of media and others and I’m attempting to make better choices for his sake as well.
